This online Business Management degree combines broad business knowledge with a focus on human resource management. It is suited to students who want to understand how organisations recruit, develop, support and retain people while also learning how marketing, finance, data and operations inform management decisions.

You will consider people management in the context of organisational culture, high-performance teams, resourcing, talent management, reward and performance. The course also develops an understanding of people analytics, helping you use workforce information to support planning and decision-making.

Alongside the HR specialism, you will study key areas of business including finance, marketing, sales, digital and social media marketing, governance, law, ethics, innovation and business transformation. An independent study and a business simulation provide opportunities to apply your learning to business scenarios involving marketing, sales, finance, people, product development, operations and supply chains.

The course is available online over three years full-time, or through a flexible study route taking three years or longer.

Assessment

Assessment may include individual reports, case study analyses, group presentations and independent assignments. You may also complete practical formats such as podcasts, videos, infographics, consultancy reports, campaigns, posters, interviews and debate sessions.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally need two GCE A-level subjects or an equivalent qualification, plus GCSE passes at grade C or above in three subjects, or equivalent qualifications.

Applicants with at least two years of relevant work experience may be considered. This route requires a personal statement, references and evidence of previous work experience.

English language requirements

IELTS 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5; or TOEFL iBT 80.

Evidence of previous study in English may also be accepted, such as a letter confirming that English was the medium of instruction.
