Who we are
Parseh is a UK education-recruitment service that helps mature and non-traditional students return to higher education. When you send us an enquiry, Parseh decides how your information is used — in data protection law that makes us the “controller”.
What we collect when you enquire
Only what we need to reply to you and have a useful first conversation: your name, your email address and/or phone number, which language you prefer, how you'd like us to contact you, what you'd like to study, any university you mention, and anything you write in the message box. We also record which advert or website brought you to us, so we know which of our efforts are reaching people.
We don't ask for your immigration status, your finances or any documents at this stage. If we ever need those, we'll explain why first.
Why we're allowed to use it
To answer your enquiry, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has asked us for help — you contacted us, and replying is what you'd expect. To send you marketing emails, we rely on your consent: that's the separate tick box, it's genuinely optional, and you can withdraw it at any time without affecting your enquiry.
Where it's kept
Your details are stored in our database in London. Access is limited to Parseh staff, and the system records who looked at or changed a record. Those records reference your file rather than copying your personal details into a second place.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of suppliers to run the service: Supabase (database hosting, London), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (sending email), Cloudflare (checking that form submissions come from people rather than bots) and Sentry (error monitoring, configured not to record personal data). Each one only handles what it needs to.
The AI assistant and course search
The chat window on this site is an AI assistant. It answers questions about our courses and how enrolling works. It gives general information rather than advice about your own situation, and it can get things wrong — an adviser confirms anything that matters.
We store the messages you type and the replies you get, plus the technical details needed to run the conversation — the language, the channel, and when messages were sent. We never ask who you are: on the website a conversation is tied to a random token kept in a cookie in your browser, and we store only a one-way fingerprint of it, never the token itself. No name, no account. Staff may read conversations to check the quality of the answers.
Conversations with our chat assistant are deleted automatically 90 days after the last message. That runs on a schedule, not by hand.
To write each reply, your messages are sent to OpenAI, a US company. Every request tells OpenAI not to store them, so they are not kept for training or held as a conversation on their side. OpenAI does keep requests briefly — up to 30 days — for its own abuse monitoring, and that copy is not ours to delete.
If you use our Telegram bot instead of the website, your messages also pass through Telegram's servers, which are outside the UK and the EU, and Telegram's own privacy policy covers that leg. For Telegram conversations we store the chat ID the bot needs to reply to you, on the same 90-day clock.
The assistant cannot see or change any record about you, and it makes no decisions about applications, funding or visas. It can search our course catalogue and read our published guides — that is all it can do. Please don't type passport, bank or health details into it; it has no use for them.
It never asks for your contact details. Those are collected only if you choose to fill in the “talk to an adviser” form, which has its own separate, optional tick for marketing email. What you send that way becomes an ordinary enquiry, handled as described above.
Your rights over a chat conversation are the same as for anything else here — see “Your rights” below, or email us and ask us to delete it.
The AI course search on our “Find my course” page works differently: the description you type is sent to OpenAI to find matching courses, but we do not store it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us using it. You can withdraw marketing consent whenever you like. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
How long we keep it
Conversations with our chat assistant are deleted automatically 90 days after the last message. Enquiry records are kept while we're helping you and are reviewed periodically after that; we're still setting a fixed period for them and will state it here before we begin marketing. You can ask us to delete your details at any time and we will do so.
