This online BA (Hons) Business Management (Marketing) degree develops knowledge of business operations alongside marketing planning, digital marketing, brand management and consumer behaviour. Full-time study takes three years. A part-time option is available over three years or more. It may suit adults looking to build business and marketing knowledge for a range of commercial, communications or management-focused roles.

About this course

This online Business Management (Marketing) degree combines core business knowledge with specialist marketing study. It is designed to help you understand how organisations operate, how customers and markets influence decisions, and how marketing can support business aims.

Alongside business finance, people management, technology and innovation, you will consider marketing dynamics, sales management, brand management and consumer insights. The course also addresses digital and social media marketing, data analytics, marketing communications and digital strategy.

Later study includes global marketing, business transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation, and corporate governance, law and ethics. An independent study gives you the opportunity to investigate a business or marketing topic in greater depth.

Assessment

Assessment methods include individual reports, case study analyses, group presentations and independent assignments. You may also produce podcasts, videos, infographics, consultancy reports, marketing campaigns and posters, and take part in interviews and debate sessions.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally need two GCE A-level subjects, or an equivalent qualification, plus GCSE passes at grade C or above in three subjects, or equivalent qualifications.

Applicants with at least two years of relevant work experience may be considered. A personal statement, references and evidence of previous work experience are required.

English language requirements

Applicants need IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 80; or an equivalent qualification. Evidence of previous study taught in English, such as a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction, may also be accepted.

Careers

This course may support progression into roles such as marketing executive, brand manager, campaign manager, communications manager, sales and marketing manager, product manager or public relations manager. It may also be relevant for work in event organisation, public affairs consultancy, management or entrepreneurship.
