This flexible online BA (Hons) top-up course can be studied part-time in one year or more. It is intended for students with an HND in Business or equivalent Level 5 business learning. The course brings together business management and tourism, covering sustainable tourism, crisis management, future tourism trends, entrepreneurship, governance and business ethics. About this course

This online top-up degree is designed for students who already have relevant Level 5 business learning and want to complete an honours degree with a tourism focus. It combines core business management themes with tourism-specific study, considering how tourism organisations respond to changing customer expectations, operational challenges and wider economic or environmental pressures.

You will examine business transformation, entrepreneurship, corporate governance, law and ethics, alongside tourism crisis management and tourism trends and futures. The course also includes an independent study, giving you the opportunity to investigate a business or tourism-related subject in greater depth.

Study considers the functions and operations of tourism organisations, including sales, finance, people management, product development, operations, supply chain management and relevant technologies. You will also develop research, data analysis and decision-making skills through applied business activities, including simulation-based learning.

Entry requirements

Applicants need an HND in Business or an equivalent qualification. Previous learning must be consistent with Level 5 functional areas of business, such as finance, marketing, operations management and human resource management.

English language requirements

IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 80; or an equivalent qualification.

Evidence of previous study taught in English may also be accepted, such as a letter confirming that English was the medium of instruction.
