This is a four-year, full-time blended BA (Hons) Business Management degree with a foundation year. It provides a route into undergraduate business study while developing academic, digital and professional skills. You will study core business functions alongside finance, marketing, leadership, people management, data analytics, innovation, entrepreneurship and international business.

About this course

This four-year, full-time blended degree includes a foundation year designed to help you prepare for undergraduate study. It combines academic development with an introduction to the business environment, leadership, innovation and future career planning.

As you progress, you will examine how organisations operate across finance, marketing, people management, data analytics, technology and operations. Later study considers business start-up, digital and social media marketing, blockchain and FinTech, supply chain management, corporate governance, law and ethics, project management and international business management.

The course is suited to adults returning to education who want to build academic confidence alongside broad business knowledge. It develops skills in analysis, communication, digital practice, problem-solving and independent research through business-focused assignments and projects.

What you will study

The foundation year covers preparing for university success, exploring the business environment, academic skills, effective leadership, career planning, an investigation and innovation project, and digital skills and professional development.

Degree-level study includes contemporary business environment, marketing dynamics, introduction to business finance, people management, technology and innovation, data analytics and management, business start-up, sales management, digital and social media marketing, blockchain and FinTech applications for managers, operations and supply chain management, business transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate governance, law and ethics, project management, and international business management. You will also complete an independent study.

Assessment

Assessment methods include individual reports, case study analyses, group presentations and independent assignments. You may also complete practical formats such as podcasts, videos, infographics, consultancy reports, marketing campaigns, posters, interviews and debate sessions.

Entry requirements

You need a minimum of 45 Level 3 credits completed within the last three years, or an equivalent qualification.

If you do not meet the qualification requirement, you may be considered with at least two years of professional work experience, supported by a CV and reference.

English language requirements

English-language evidence may include IELTS 6.0, with no element below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 80; an equivalent English-language qualification; or evidence of previous study in English, such as a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction.

Careers

The course may support progression into roles such as business analyst, project manager, data analyst, digital marketing specialist, people manager, digital transformation specialist or big data specialist. It may also be relevant if you plan to start a business or explore areas including AI and machine learning.
