BA (Hons) Criminology with Cybercrime
This flexible, part-time online degree combines criminology with the study of cybercrime. It may suit adults returning to study who want to explore crime, justice and the growing impact of digital technologies on offending and investigation. You will study criminal justice, policing, youth crime, cybersecurity, digital forensics, cyber warfare and online radicalisation, while developing research and analytical skills.
About this course
This online BA (Hons) Criminology with Cybercrime examines crime in both physical and digital settings. You will consider criminological ideas alongside the changing nature of online threats, cybersecurity, digital evidence and cyber-enabled offending.
The course explores how criminal justice systems operate in the UK and internationally, including policing, punishment, youth justice and the role of media and culture in shaping understandings of crime. It also addresses cyber espionage, cyber warfare, transnational cybercrime, online radicalisation and responses to global cyber emergencies.
Research methods and a final research project develop your ability to investigate issues, evaluate evidence and present reasoned findings. The flexible part-time online study option is listed as taking three years or more.

Assessment
Assessment uses authentic assessments, designed around practical and applied criminology and cybercrime contexts.
Entry requirements
Applicants normally need two GCE A levels or equivalent qualifications, plus GCSE passes at grade C or above in three subjects, or equivalent qualifications.
A completed recognised Access Programme, or equivalent, may also be accepted.
Relevant work experience requiring critical thinking and analytical skills may be considered. Applicants using this route must provide a personal statement, references and evidence of previous work experience.
English language requirements
Applicants need to meet one of the following English-language requirements: IELTS 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 80; an equivalent English-language qualification; or evidence of previous study taught in English, such as a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction.
