BA (Hons) Global Business and Entrepreneurship with Foundation Year

About this course
This four-year BA (Hons) course includes a Foundation Year and is delivered in a flexible study mode. It is designed for students who want to understand how businesses are started, developed and managed, including ventures operating across international markets.
The Foundation Year introduces core business concepts alongside academic writing, research and IT skills. You will then develop knowledge of entrepreneurial organisations, opportunity recognition, marketing, finance, strategic management and project management.
As the course progresses, you will examine how to generate business ideas, prepare and pitch a business plan, use digital marketing and social media, and consider venture finance and legal issues. Later study covers intrapreneurship, social entrepreneurship, global strategies, research methods and an entrepreneurship project. The course also includes work-based learning, helping you relate business theory to practical organisational settings.

Assessment
Assessment includes essays, case study reports, financial and technical reports, individual and group presentations, business plans, projects, group debates and syndicate competitions. You may also take part in real-life business simulations and complete an individual capstone or entrepreneurship project.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
For standard entry, applicants aged under 21 need either 80 UCAS tariff points or above, or a 60-credit Ofqual Level 3 qualification.
Applicants aged 21 or over who do not meet the standard entry requirements may be considered for the Foundation programme based on suitable life or work skills, willingness and commitment to study, and relevant academic, professional or vocational experience.
All applicants must complete an application form, a supervised personal reflection statement and a personal interview. Listening and speaking are assessed through the interview, while writing is assessed through the personal reflection statement.
English language requirements
Applicants need GCSE English at grade 4/C or CEFR B1. Applicants without this qualification may be able to take an English test.
