BA (Hons) Human Resource Management and Psychology
This flexible online BA (Hons) course takes three years or more to complete on a part-time basis. It brings together human resource management and psychology, with a focus on how people are recruited, developed, motivated and managed in organisations. It may suit adults returning to study who are interested in HR, people management, workplace behaviour or organisational development.
About this course
This online degree combines human resource management with psychology, examining how people think, behave and perform at work. It is designed for those interested in managing people, supporting employee development and using psychological insight to improve organisational outcomes.
You will explore core HR activities such as recruitment, resourcing, talent management, performance and reward, employee engagement, training and development, and conflict management. Psychology study includes social, occupational, coaching, cyber and political psychology, helping you consider behaviour at both individual and organisational levels.
The course also covers the wider business context, including marketing, consumer insight, technology and innovation, project management and people analytics. Applied assessments provide opportunities to use ideas in workplace-style scenarios, while the independent study allows you to investigate a topic in greater depth.

Assessment
Assessment is based on applied work rather than exams alone. Methods include case studies, company appraisals, workplace-based applications, reports, presentations, group work, reviews, personal audits, business plans, podcasts, marketing plans and an individual project.
Entry requirements
Applicants normally need two GCE A-level subjects, or an equivalent qualification, plus GCSE passes at grade C or above in three subjects, or equivalent qualifications.
Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements may be considered if they have at least 12 months of appropriate work experience, evidenced through a CV and reference.
English language requirements
Applicants normally need IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5, or TOEFL iBT 80. Equivalent English-language qualifications may also be accepted.
Evidence of previous study taught in English, such as a Medium of Instruction letter, may be considered. An internal English test is available for applicants who cannot provide the listed evidence.
