BSc (Hons) Accounting with Finance

BSc (Hons) Accounting with Finance is a full-time degree for students who want to build a broad understanding of accounting practice and financial decision-making. It covers financial and management accounting, finance, data analysis, taxation, business law, audit and financial reporting. Foundation year and placement year options are available.

About this course

This accounting and finance degree develops knowledge of how organisations record, report, manage and use financial information. You will study financial and management accounting alongside finance, business economics, data analysis, taxation and business law.

As the course progresses, you will consider corporate finance, financial reporting, audit, advanced taxation and advanced financial reporting. The curriculum also addresses ethics and regulations in finance and accounting, helping you consider the professional responsibilities involved in financial decision-making.

The full-time course is available as a three-year degree or a four-year degree with a placement year. Four-year and five-year foundation year routes are also available, with the five-year option including a placement year.

Assessment

Assessment includes individual reports, in-class group presentations, group projects and exams.

Entry requirements

Standard entry requirements are 112 UCAS Tariff points from three A Levels or equivalent, including A Levels at BBC or a BTEC qualification at DMM.

You will also need GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent.

Entry requirements for the foundation year route differ from the standard requirements listed above.

Careers

This course may support progression into roles in accounting, finance, audit or taxation, including routes towards chartered accountancy.
