BSc (Hons) Business and Data Analytics
The BSc (Hons) Business and Data Analytics is a full-time degree available over three years, or four years with a foundation year. It is suited to learners who want to understand how data can inform decisions across business functions. You will combine business strategy, marketing, finance and operations with data analytics, visualisation, decision intelligence and cognitive systems. The course also develops research, computing and professional skills.
About this course
This degree combines business knowledge with data analysis, helping you examine information and use it to support business decisions. You will study how organisations operate across areas including strategy, marketing, finance, operations and business processes, while building practical skills in analytics, visualisation and decision intelligence.
The course covers the tools and approaches used to investigate business questions, communicate findings clearly and develop evidence-based recommendations. You will also explore cognitive systems, artificial intelligence-informed analytical tools, economics, project management and the legal, ethical, environmental, political and global contexts that affect businesses.
Alongside subject knowledge, you will develop research, computing, academic and professional skills. The course ends with an undergraduate major project focused on business contexts, allowing you to apply your learning to a substantial piece of work.

Assessment
Assessment includes coursework, group and activity-based assignments, exams, problem-solving activities, projects and presentations.
Entry requirements
Standard entry requires 96 UCAS Tariff points from three A levels or an equivalent qualification, such as CCC at A level. Other accepted routes include:
• Irish Leaving Certificate: BBCCC • Scottish Highers: BBCCC • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DMM in a related subject • International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points
Applicants also need at least three GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.
Foundation entry requires a minimum of 40 UCAS Tariff points.
Applicants who meet either the foundation or standard entry criteria but have been out of education for five years must pass an academic interview.
Level 3 entry may be considered for applicants who do not meet the usual requirements but can demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and potential to benefit from the course, for example through relevant work experience and professional development.
For non-standard mature entry (aged 21+), applicants need either an Ofqual-recognised academic Level 3 qualification, or a Level 2 qualification in the intended field plus work experience in that field within the past five years. Candidates must pass an academic interview.
English language requirements
IELTS Academic 6.0, or an equivalent English language qualification.
