BSc (Hons) Digital Marketing with Foundation Year

This full-time, four-year blended BSc (Hons) includes a foundation year and focuses on the practical and strategic sides of digital marketing. It may suit adults returning to education who want to develop academic skills before studying social media, SEO, copywriting, digital advertising, analytics and user and customer experience design.

About this course

This four-year blended degree combines a foundation year with specialist study in digital marketing. It is designed for students who want to build academic confidence before progressing to degree-level work in areas such as social media, content, search marketing, digital advertising and customer experience.

The course develops an understanding of how digital audiences, platforms and campaigns work together. You will consider content production, copywriting, search engine optimisation, web and data analytics, brand management, email marketing and digital public relations. Later study brings these areas together through digital marketing strategy, campaign planning and strategic customer experience design.

Alongside marketing knowledge, you will develop practical skills in researching audiences, managing digital channels, interpreting analytics and presenting ideas to different stakeholders. The course also includes a digital internship module and a final digital marketing showcase, giving you opportunities to apply your learning to practical work.

Assessment

Assessment methods include reports, presentations, case studies, projects, websites, reflective blogs, vodcasts, creative portfolios, pitches and CX/UX journey work.

Entry requirements

Applicants need a minimum of 45 Level 3 credits completed within the last three years, or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants who do not meet the qualification requirements may be considered if they have at least two years of professional work experience in a business- or marketing-related field. This must be evidenced by a CV and reference.

English language requirements

Applicants need one of the following: IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 80; an equivalent English-language qualification; or evidence of previous study in English, such as a letter confirming that English was the medium of instruction.
