BSc (Hons) Health and Well-being: Promotion and Management (Top-up)
This full-time, two-year BSc (Hons) top-up course focuses on promoting and managing health and well-being in health and social care contexts. It covers health promotion, mental and physical health, community development, health equity, leadership, research and service improvement. It may suit applicants with Level 4 study in a related subject who want to complete an honours degree.
About this course
This BSc (Hons) top-up course develops knowledge of health and well-being promotion and management across health and social care settings. It considers physical and mental health, prevention, behavioural change, community engagement, and the factors that shape health inequalities, equity and social justice.
You will examine how health interventions and policies are developed, delivered and evaluated. The course also addresses leadership, partnership working, resource planning and service improvement, helping you consider how health and well-being services can respond to the needs of communities and populations.
A substantial research project allows you to investigate a health and well-being topic in depth, using research and evaluation methods. The course may suit applicants with prior relevant higher education study who want to build towards an honours degree in this subject area.

Entry requirements
This is a Level 5 top-up route. Applicants need 120 appropriate credits at Level 4, such as a CertHE in Health and Social Care.
Standard undergraduate entry requirements also apply. Applicants with non-standard qualifications or experience may be considered individually and may be invited to a face-to-face interview.
Mature applicants should provide a CV, personal statement, evidence of relevant and substantial work experience, and any relevant professional qualifications. Non-standard entry may also take account of an applicant's ability to pass examinations, an independent employment reference, interviews and testing.
English language requirements
Applicants need GCSE English at grade 4 or above, Level 2 Functional Skills, or English proficiency at CEFR level B2 across all four components. An independent external examination demonstrating a reasonable command of English at CEFR B2 may also be accepted for entry at Level 4 or above.
