BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing and Social Care (Level 6 Direct Entry)
This one-year BSc (Hons) Level 6 direct-entry course is for students with prior Healthcare Practice study who want to develop their knowledge of health, wellbeing and social care services. About this course
This one-year Level 6 direct-entry course builds on prior healthcare practice study and examines how health, wellbeing and social care services are led, evaluated and improved.
You will consider the theory and practice of modern health and social care, with particular attention to leadership, management, service quality, social policy, equality and vulnerability. The course also develops your ability to use evidence appropriately, question existing evidence and make reasoned decisions in professional contexts.
A capstone project provides an opportunity to undertake independent research on a relevant health, wellbeing or social care issue. Throughout the course, you will strengthen critical thinking, reflective practice, research and communication skills.

Assessment
Assessment includes presentations, work-related reports, group debates, real-life simulations, reports and essays. You will also complete a capstone project.
Entry requirements
Successful completion of the HND in Healthcare Practice for England (Healthcare Management) is required for entry.

This course may support progression into healthcare management, leadership, quality management or administrative roles. Potential settings include NHS trusts, private care facilities, social services, public health, housing support, charities and community health organisations. It may also be relevant to project management, advocacy, advisory work, service coordination in mental health settings, adult social care and vulnerability support.
