BSc (Hons) Hospitality and Events
This full-time BSc (Hons) Hospitality and Events course develops management knowledge for hospitality, tourism and events settings. It covers business finance, marketing, human resources, customer service, quality and strategy. The course may suit adults looking to move into or progress within hospitality, events or tourism management. You can choose a three-year degree route or a four-year route with a foundation year.
About this course
This degree combines hospitality, events and tourism with practical business management. You will examine how hospitality and events organisations operate, including customer service, quality management, finance, marketing, human resources and business strategy.
The course includes a live project, giving you the opportunity to apply your learning to a practical brief. In the final stage, you will complete an undergraduate major project focused on leadership in practice.
A four-year option with a foundation year is available for applicants who need to build academic, digital and professional study skills before progressing to degree-level modules.

Assessment
Assessment includes presentations, assignments, written management reports, essays, briefing documents, analysis of company reports and live projects.
Entry requirements
For the three-year full-time option, applicants need 96 UCAS Tariff points from three A levels, such as BCC. Other accepted routes include the Irish Leaving Certificate at BBCCC; Scottish Highers at BBCCC; a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at DMM in a business-related subject; or the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 24 points. A recognised university foundation course may also be accepted.
Applicants also need at least three GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.
For the four-year full-time option with foundation year, applicants need five GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English and Maths, plus evidence of two years of post-GCSE Level 3 study. Applicants with at least grade E in one A level, or an equivalent qualification, do not need to provide evidence of the two years of Level 3 study, but must still meet the GCSE requirements.
International applicants may apply with GCE A levels from a recognised UK examination board, the International Baccalaureate with at least 24 points, or a recognised university foundation course.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.0 at Academic level, or an equivalent English language qualification.
Careers
The course may support progression into hospitality and events management roles, including Event Manager, Event Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Rooms Manager, Restaurant Manager, Front Office Manager, Marketing Executive, Social Media Manager or Tourism Officer. With experience, graduates may also work towards senior roles such as Director of Events.
