BSc (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management
This degree explores the management of hospitality, tourism, travel and events services in international markets. You will study operational management alongside finance, marketing, customer service, business development and destination planning. It is available as a three-year blended full-time option or as an online part-time option taking three years or more. A foundation year route is also available for eligible applicants.
About this course
This BSc (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management degree examines how hospitality, travel, tourism and events businesses are managed in an international setting. It combines operational knowledge with business planning, customer service, finance, marketing and destination management.
You will consider how organisations develop hospitality services, manage people and respond to changing tourism markets. The course also addresses international events, digital and social media marketing, tourism crisis management, innovation, future tourism trends and hospitality strategy.
The programme may suit adults returning to education who want to build or formalise knowledge for work in hotels, travel, tourism, events or related service-sector businesses. A foundation year route is available for applicants who do not hold the stated academic qualifications.

Assessment
Assessment may include reports, case studies, business plans, destination development plans and independent projects. You may also complete practical and digital formats such as podcasts, videos, infographics, consultancy reports, marketing campaigns and posters, alongside interviews or debates.
Entry requirements
You will normally need two GCE A levels or equivalent, plus three GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent.
If you do not hold the stated qualifications, you may be able to study with an additional foundation year.
A work-experience route is available for applicants with at least two years of relevant work experience. This requires a personal statement, references and evidence of previous employment.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with no element below 5.5.
TOEFL iBT 80 or equivalent.
Evidence of previous study in English may also be accepted, for example a letter confirming that English was the medium of instruction.
Careers
This course may support progression into hospitality, tourism, travel and events roles. Possible areas include destination management, hotel management, travel consultancy, tour management, travel agency management and event organisation. Other potential roles include travel administrator, food and beverage manager, front office manager, housekeeping manager, reception manager, rooms division manager, restaurant manager, facilities manager, guest relations manager and resort manager.
