BSc (Hons) Project Management

This BSc (Hons) Project Management degree examines how to manage projects from initial justification and planning through to delivery, change control and evaluation. It covers agile and hybrid methods, procurement and contract management, project risk, quality, governance, technology and data-led decision-making. It may suit people seeking to develop project management skills for use across a range of sectors.

About this course

This degree develops the knowledge and practical methods used to plan, justify, deliver, monitor and close projects. You will examine how projects operate within wider organisations, including governance, procurement, contracts, technology, innovation and supply chains.

The course covers both established and agile approaches to project delivery. You will consider project planning, change control, quality, risk and issue management, alongside the use of AI and big data analytics in project management. A final project provides an opportunity to bring together your learning through independent work.

Available through blended study over three years, or online over three years or more, the course may suit adults looking to build project management capability alongside other commitments.

Assessment

Assessment includes reflective analyses, portfolio development, work-based products, narrated presentations, risk assessments, agile implementation proposals, case study reports and an independent study assessment.

Entry requirements

Applicants need two GCE A-Level subjects or an equivalent qualification, plus passes at grade C or above in three GCSE subjects or equivalent qualifications.

Applicants with at least two years of relevant work experience may also be considered. This route requires a personal statement, references and evidence of previous work experience.

English language requirements

Applicants typically need IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5, or TOEFL iBT 80. An equivalent English-language qualification may also be accepted.

Evidence of previous study in English may be considered, such as a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction.

This course may support progression into roles such as project assistant or co-ordinator, project manager, project leader, implementation or change manager, project management consultant, programme or portfolio manager, technical project manager, business project lead, project planner or risk analyst.
