Business and Human Resource Management BSc (Hons)
This full-time BSc (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management degree examines how organisations manage people alongside core business functions. You will study recruitment, employee development, people strategy and employment relationships, while building knowledge of finance, economics, law, marketing, leadership and business strategy. A three-year degree route and a four-year route with foundation year are available.
About this course
This degree combines business management with human resource management, focusing on how organisations recruit, develop, reward and make effective use of their employees. You will consider the relationship between people decisions, business performance and employment relationships in contemporary workplaces.
Alongside HR topics, the course develops a broad understanding of business through economics, finance, law, marketing, leadership and strategic planning. Later study explores people strategy, executing business strategy and employment relationships, before you complete a major project on leadership in practice.
A four-year route with a foundation year is available for students who would benefit from preparation before starting degree-level study. The foundation year covers academic and study skills, data and digital skills, personal and professional development, and the foundations of business management.

Assessment
Assessment may include coursework, group and activity-based assignments, examinations, projects, presentations, simulations and negotiation activities. You may also complete a written management report, sales presentation, company report analysis and an undergraduate major project.
Entry requirements
Typical entry requirements are 96 UCAS Tariff points from three A levels, for example BCC; an Irish Leaving Certificate of BBCCC; Scottish Highers of BBCCC; a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at DMM in a business-related subject; or an International Baccalaureate Diploma with 24 points.
You will also need at least three GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.
International applicants may be considered with GCE A levels from a recognised UK examination board, an International Baccalaureate Diploma with at least 24 points, or a recognised university foundation course. Mature applicants with appropriate relevant work experience are welcomed.
English language requirements
IELTS Academic 6.0, or an equivalent English language qualification recognised for entry.

This course may support progression into roles such as Human Resource Officer, Office Manager, Training and Development Officer, Careers Adviser, Recruitment Consultant, Management Consultant or Risk Manager. It may also be relevant to work in corporate human resources, management and skills training, management recruitment or HR consultancy.
