Foundation Degree Computing and Digital Futures (FdSc)
This two-year, full-time blended FdSc course is for people who want to build practical computing skills while understanding how digital technology shapes organisations and workplaces. It covers programming, web and database technologies, business intelligence, user-centred design, digital business transformation and work-based learning. It may suit adult learners looking to develop skills for digital and technology-focused roles.
About this course
This FdSc course combines core computing knowledge with the organisational and human aspects of digital change. It considers how technology can support business transformation, alongside topics such as artificial intelligence, digital strategy, technology management and ethical computing.
You will develop practical technical skills in programming, web and database technologies, business intelligence and user-centred design. The course also covers computational thinking, data-driven business strategy and the digital skills used in modern workplaces.
A work-based learning project provides an opportunity to apply computing and design learning to a workplace-focused challenge. Academic and study skills are included to support students returning to education or developing confidence in higher-level study.

Assessment
Assessment is through practical assessments.
Entry requirements
Standard entry requires a minimum of 60 credits from a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, such as GCSEs, A levels, BTECs, an Access to Higher Education course or an equivalent qualification. At least 15 of these credits must be at Level 3. A current professional CV is also required.
Non-standard entry may be considered with two years of work experience in a relevant role, including industry-specific experience or professional certificates. Some of this experience must have been completed within the last 12 months.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. Previous study completed in English may also be accepted.
