About this course
This part-time online Legal Practice Course (LPC) focuses on the practical legal knowledge and professional skills used in solicitor practice. It covers the core areas of business law, dispute resolution, criminal litigation and real estate, alongside professional conduct and practice-based skills.
You will develop experience in interviewing clients, presenting legal arguments through advocacy, researching legal issues and applying law to practical scenarios. The course also includes elective legal practice areas, allowing you to explore subjects such as commercial, employment, family and intellectual property law.
A professional practice research report forms part of the course, supporting the development of structured legal research and written analysis.

You will also study legal practice subjects including advanced criminal law, commercial law, employment law, family law, intellectual property law, mergers and acquisitions, personal injury and clinical negligence, and private client law. The course includes a Professional Practice Research Report.

Assessment

Entry requirements
Applicants need one of the following: a minimum second-class honours Qualifying Law Degree; a GDL/CPE; or an MA Law.
Careers
The course may support progression towards trainee solicitor roles and, subject to meeting the relevant professional requirements, a career as a solicitor.
