LLB (Hons) Law Senior Status
This accelerated LLB (Hons) is for applicants who already have a degree in another subject and wish to study law at undergraduate level. It covers the main areas of English and Welsh law, legal research and argument, with a choice of specialist subjects in later study. Full-time study is listed as two years in London, with an online study option also available.
About this course
This senior-status LLB (Hons) is designed for graduates who already hold a degree in another subject and want to build a foundation in English and Welsh law. It covers core legal principles alongside practical skills in legal research, interpreting cases and legislation, referencing, and constructing legal arguments.
You will study areas including contract, criminal, tort, public and EU law, equity and trusts, land law, company law, criminal litigation and evidence, and wills and succession. Later study can include specialist options such as employment law, intellectual property, international commercial law, family law, civil dispute resolution, legal technology, real estate and mental health and mental capacity law.
The course also includes opportunities to consider law in its wider social context, undertake a research project, and develop employability-focused skills. A Legal Advice Clinic module may provide a practical setting in which to apply legal knowledge.

• Contract Law, including contractual terms and remedies for breach • Legal Method and Skills, including legal research, case and legislation interpretation, referencing and legal argument • Public and EU Law • Business Law 1 and 2, covering business organisations, company law, directors and shareholders • Criminal Law, including criminal liability, offences and defences • Tort • Equity and Trusts • Land Law, including co-ownership, leases, easements, covenants and mortgages • Criminal Litigation and Evidence • Wills & Succession
Specialist modules may include Employment Law, Intellectual Property, International Commercial Law, Family Law, Mental Health and Mental Capacity, Civil Dispute Resolution, Law and Society, Legal Technology, Real Estate, Legal Advice Clinic and a Research Project. Canadian Constitutional Law and Foundations of Canadian Law are also listed among the available modules.

A degree in any subject, awarded at 2:2 or above.
Careers
The course may support progression towards roles such as solicitor, barrister, CILEX lawyer or in-house lawyer, subject to any further training and professional requirements. It may also be relevant to commercial roles outside law and work in the criminal justice sector.
