LLB Law (Accelerated)
This is a full-time accelerated LLB completed over two years. It provides a broad introduction to core legal principles and the legal system of England and Wales. It may suit students seeking an intensive route into further legal training or legal and commercial work, with study in legal research, advocacy-related skills, digital practice and access to justice.
About this course
This accelerated LLB covers the foundations of English law alongside areas that shape legal practice and access to justice. You will study core subjects including contract, criminal, public and EU, land, tort, equity and trusts law, while developing legal research, referencing, argument and problem-solving skills.
The course also considers law in its wider professional and social context. Topics include human rights, legal services, business law, digital practice, artificial intelligence literacy and law in a global context. An extended essay provides an opportunity to investigate a legal issue in depth.
Full-time study is completed over two years. The course may suit learners who are ready for an intensive undergraduate law degree and want to build a broad grounding for further legal training or related professional work.
What you will study
Core study includes Contract Law, Legal Method and Skills, Public and EU Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, and Tort.
You will also explore legal practice and contemporary issues through modules such as Access to Justice and Legal Services, Human Rights, Practising Law in a Digital World, AI Literacy for the Future Professional, Critical Approaches in Current Legal Issues and Law in a Global Context.
Further areas may include Business Law, Criminal Litigation and Evidence, Wills and Succession, Employment Law, Intellectual Property, International Commercial Law, Family Law, Mental Health and Mental Capacity, and Real Estate. The course includes a Student Law Clinic, an Extended Essay, and academic, career and employability development.

Assessment
Assessment methods include exams, essays, a project report, portfolios, oral presentations and mock assessments.
Entry requirements
Typical entry requirements are A levels at ABB, a BTEC qualification at DDM, or 128 UCAS Tariff points. You will also need GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or above, or an equivalent qualification.
Careers
This LLB may support progression towards solicitor, barrister or CILEX lawyer pathways, subject to the further education, training and regulatory requirements for each route. It may also be relevant to in-house legal roles, the criminal justice sector and commercial careers outside law.
