About this course
This LLM examines how organisations are directed, controlled and held accountable. It considers corporate governance models and systems, the rules, policies and controls that influence corporate behaviour, and the effects of the global financial crisis on governance practice.
You will explore the role of the company secretary, the responsibilities and dynamics of boards of directors, and the relationship between boards and shareholders. The course also addresses disclosure, accountability, company law, compliance, finance, accounting and risk management in corporate governance settings.
Alongside taught modules, you will complete research methods training and a substantial dissertation in corporate governance. The course is available full-time over 12 months or part-time over 24 months.

Assessment
Assessment includes a three-hour unseen written examination, a 4,500-word coursework assignment and a 15,000-word thesis.
Entry requirements
A UK bachelor's degree with a 2:2 classification or above, or an equivalent qualification.
English language requirements
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall, with at least 6.0 in each component.
