LLM Employment Law
This LLM is for graduates who want to develop specialist knowledge of employment law. It covers workplace rights, employment disputes and equality issues, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and harassment. Available full-time and part-time, the course may suit those seeking to build legal research skills alongside a focused understanding of employment law.
About this course
This LLM examines employment law and its role in managing rights, responsibilities and disputes at work. You will consider both individual and collective rights, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and harassment claims.
The course also explores equality and human rights law in the employment context. Topics include protected characteristics, the work of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, organisational diversity aims and gender pay gap requirements.
Alongside employment law study, you will develop research skills for legal practice and academic enquiry. You will consider the English legal system, legal technology and employment law research methods before completing a dissertation in employment law.
