LLM Law and Policy for Sustainability
This LLM is for graduates who want to examine the legal and policy responses to sustainability issues. It may suit those interested in environmental law, energy, ESG regulation, corporate responsibility and sustainable development. The course combines core study in law and policy for sustainability with research methods, elective modules and an independent dissertation.
About this course
This LLM examines how law and public policy can be used to address sustainability challenges. It considers the legal, political and economic issues that shape environmental decision-making, energy, corporate responsibility and sustainable development.
You will explore the UN Sustainable Development Goals, corporate social responsibility and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) regulation. The course also considers legal ethics, legal technology and the English legal system, helping you place sustainability law within wider legal and policy contexts.
Research methods training prepares you to plan and undertake independent legal research. You will complete elective modules and a dissertation focused on law and policy for sustainability. Study is available full-time, part-time or online.

Assessment
Assessment includes a three-hour unseen written examination, coursework assignments and a thesis.

A minimum second-class honours degree is required.
