MA Education
This MA Education is a 24-month, part-time online course for higher education teaching and relevant student support practitioners. It covers teaching, learning and assessment, learning technologies, reflective practice and educational research. You will consider how to develop and evaluate practice in both online and face-to-face learning environments.
About this course
This online, part-time MA Education is designed for people working in teaching or relevant student support roles in higher education. Over 24 months, it examines how learning, teaching and assessment can be planned, delivered and evaluated in face-to-face and online settings.
You will explore learning technologies, the development of learning materials and support systems, and approaches to monitoring student progress. The course also considers discipline-specific challenges in teaching and assessment, alongside educational policy, strategy and quality.
A substantial focus is placed on reflective practice and educational research. You will investigate practice in higher education, develop research methods skills and complete an educational research project. This may suit practitioners who want to examine and improve their own professional practice through structured study and research.

Assessment
Assessment includes a portfolio, coursework, blogs and vlogs, a reflective account of practice, poster presentations, a research proposal, a dissertation and a journal article presentation.
Entry requirements
You will need an undergraduate degree, or an equivalent qualification, in any discipline, plus at least six months' professional experience of developing other people.
While enrolled, you must be working in a teaching role or a relevant student support role in higher education.
