Mental Health and Wellbeing (Top-up) – Level 5 Entry, BSc (Hons)
This two-year, full-time BSc (Hons) top-up course is for students entering at Level 5 with relevant prior higher education study. About this course
This Level 5 entry top-up degree examines mental health and wellbeing through biological, psychological, social, cultural and environmental perspectives. It considers mental health needs across the lifecourse, alongside public health approaches, health promotion and the influence of health inequalities.
You will explore how mental health policies and services operate across public, private and third-sector settings. The course also considers collaborative practice, social prescribing, substance use and health, and evidence-based research.
Study includes health behaviour science and lifestyle epidemiology, which examines patterns of health in populations. A dissertation provides an opportunity to investigate a health and wellbeing topic in depth.

Entry requirements
For Level 5 top-up entry, you need 120 appropriate credits at Level 4, such as a CertHE in Public Health.
External applicants must also meet the standard entry requirements set out in Canterbury Christ Church University's General Regulations for the Conferment of Awards Policy.
Non-standard entry may be considered where you can demonstrate substantial relevant work experience, the ability to pass examinations, an independent employment reference and English language assurance.
English language requirements
Applicants need a reasonable command of English at CEFR Level B2 for entry at Level 4 or above, demonstrated through an independent external examination.
Careers
The course may support progression into public health roles and work in the mental health and wellbeing economy. It may also be relevant to roles involving mental health and wellbeing advice, or the development and delivery of mental health policies, strategies and interventions.
