MSc Engineering Management

About this course
This MSc Engineering Management examines how engineering projects, teams and operations can be managed in changing business environments. It brings together project management, strategic decision-making, leadership, supply chain management and data analysis.
You will consider both traditional and agile approaches to engineering project delivery, alongside competitive strategy, stakeholder engagement and financial decision-making. The course also explores ethics and strategy, helping you consider the wider organisational and social implications of engineering decisions.
A central element is the Engineering Transformation Project, where you will apply learning from across the course to a business transformation challenge. The course may suit engineering or related graduates who want to move towards management, operational leadership or project-focused roles.

Assessment
Assessment includes portfolio development, case study reports, risk assessments and a Business Transformation Project.
Entry requirements
You will need a UK honours degree with at least a 2:2 classification, or an equivalent qualification.
A personal statement is required to demonstrate your ability to study the course. References and evidence of relevant experience may also be requested.
English language requirements
For online study, the requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall, with no element below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 90; or an equivalent qualification.
For blended study, the requirement is IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 60–78; or an equivalent qualification.
Evidence of previous study taught in English may be accepted, including a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction.
Students who require a visa to study in the UK need IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5, or an equivalent Secure English Language Test result.
