MSc Global Health Management
This flexible online MSc examines how health services, policies and projects can address global health challenges. It may suit health and science graduates, as well as experienced professionals seeking to develop knowledge of global health management, health policy, health economics, research and outbreak planning.
About this course
This online MSc focuses on managing health challenges that cross national boundaries. It considers disease prevention, health promotion and health equity in global populations, alongside the policy, service-management and economic factors that influence healthcare delivery.
You will examine global health policy, health services management and economics in health, while developing approaches to leading health projects and communicating risk during epidemics and outbreaks. The course also addresses the use of digital technologies and data analysis in global health management, including tools such as SPSS, NVIVO, Stata and Gorilla.
Learning includes virtual simulations and technologies used to predict, model and plan for disease outbreaks. A research project allows you to apply research methods to a global health topic in more depth.

Assessment
Assessment may include case studies, health journal article and report writing, policy briefs, media reviews and updates, and a digital health service management portfolio. You may also complete epidemic risk scenario planning, an interactive individual presentation and a digital poster presentation.
Entry requirements
Standard entry requires a 2:2 bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in clinical health, allied health sciences, health studies, health psychology, or a relevant scientific subject such as biomedical sciences or nutrition.
You will also need a maths qualification at GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
Applicants without formal qualifications may be considered where they have relevant work experience in clinical health, allied health science or health studies. If you do not hold the required maths qualification, relevant professional experience in statistical modelling or analysis, data entry, or mathematical modelling or budgeting may be considered.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.5 overall, with no element below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 90; or an equivalent qualification. Evidence of previous study in English may also be accepted, such as a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction.

The course may support progression into roles such as policy analyst, programme manager, global health consultant, epidemiologist, global health educator or global health worker. Potential settings include the global health management sector, non-governmental organisations, and national or international charities.
