About this course

This MSc International Business Management examines how organisations operate, compete and grow across international markets. It is designed for people who want to develop management skills for global business settings, including those moving into international roles or building on previous professional experience.

You will consider international trade, global markets, supply chains, cross-cultural marketing and the effect of cultural differences on business decisions. The course also explores digital transformation, innovation strategies and digital business models, alongside financial management and decision-making.

A focus on leading global teams, developing sustainable strategy and competing in the digital economy helps you connect management theory with organisational challenges. The course concludes with a Transformation Capstone Project, allowing you to bring together your learning in a substantial piece of independent work.

Assessment

Assessment includes summative assessments, case study assignments, workplace reports, presentations, reflective journals and independent study assessments. You will also complete a Transformation Capstone Project.

Entry requirements

Standard entry normally requires a UK honours degree at 2:2 or above, or an equivalent qualification. A business-related degree is preferred, although applicants from other subject areas may be considered.

Non-standard entry may be available to applicants with at least five years of relevant work experience.

Relevant professional qualifications may also be considered, including qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) or Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Other relevant professional memberships may be considered.

English language requirements

For blended learning, the requirement is IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5, or TOEFL iBT 60–78, or an equivalent qualification. Evidence of previous study in English may also be accepted, including a letter confirming English as the medium of instruction.

For online learning, the requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall, with no element below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 90, or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants who require a UK study visa need IELTS 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5, or an equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) result.
