MSc International Hospitality and Tourism Management
This MSc is for graduates and professionals who want to build advanced knowledge of international hospitality and tourism management. It covers operations, leadership, people management, sustainability, marketing, digital platforms, innovation and strategy. The course is available full-time over one year or part-time over two years.
About this course
This MSc develops a management-focused understanding of hospitality and tourism in an international setting. It considers how organisations respond to changing business conditions, sustainability and ethical responsibilities, digital platforms, and the expectations of different markets.
You will examine hospitality and tourism operations alongside marketing, branding, human capital management and cross-cultural leadership. The course also explores strategic design, innovation and entrepreneurship, helping you consider how services and organisations can be developed and managed.
A research-focused integrative project provides an opportunity to bring together your learning through independent investigation of a hospitality or tourism management issue.
What you will study
You will study postgraduate research skills, methods and ethics; contemporary emerging issues in hospitality and tourism; and international hospitality and tourism operations management.
Further topics include cross-cultural leadership and human capital management, strategic design, innovation and entrepreneurship in hospitality and tourism, and a postgraduate integrative project.
The course also addresses the international business environment, sustainability and ethics, marketing and branding, digital platforms, and business strategy development.

Assessment
Assessment may include written coursework, oral presentations, examinations, in-class tests, online quizzes, practical projects and reflective work. You will also complete a major project or dissertation.
Entry requirements
Applicants should normally have a UK honours degree with at least lower second-class honours (2:2). A UK first degree at 2:2 or above plus relevant experience may also be considered.
Relevant qualifications obtained in your home country may be accepted where they meet the applicable country-specific entry requirements.
English language requirements
You should have previously been taught in English and have sufficient English language ability for postgraduate study. An IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent may also be accepted.
