MSc Psychology (Top up)
This online MSc Psychology (Top up) is a dissertation-based course for students with a qualifying 120-credit Level 7 Diploma in Psychology. You will carry out an independent research project using secondary data, developing skills in research design, literature reviewing, data analysis and academic writing. The course can be studied full-time over 19 weeks or part-time over 37 weeks.
About this course
This online MSc Psychology (Top up) is designed for students who have already completed a qualifying Level 7 Diploma in Psychology worth 120 credits. It provides the remaining research-focused study needed to complete the MSc qualification.
The course centres on an independent psychology research project using secondary data. You will develop a research topic, plan and design a study, review relevant academic literature, analyse data, and present your findings in a structured dissertation. The course also develops practical academic skills, including referencing, report writing and communicating research through an oral presentation.
Alongside the dissertation process, you will strengthen psychological literacy and your understanding of psychological theories, principles and concepts. Full-time study takes 19 weeks, while part-time study takes 37 weeks.
