A full-time, three-year PhD for researchers planning an original project in business and management. About this course
This PhD supports independent research in business and management. You will develop and carry out an original research project in a chosen area, using appropriate research methods and presenting your findings in a substantial dissertation.
Research may draw on areas including strategy, finance and accounting, human resource management, customer relationship management, operations, supply chain management, information systems, marketing, international business, business and management in developing countries, and small business management.
The course is studied full-time over three years. It may suit applicants with a relevant Master's degree who want to investigate a focused business or management question in depth.

Assessment
Assessment is based on a final dissertation and a viva voce examination.
Entry requirements
Normally, applicants need a Master's degree with Merit in a subject relevant to the proposed research project, awarded by a recognised university.
Applicants with a lower award or non-graduate qualifications may be considered individually on a case-by-case basis.
English language requirements
International applicants need an overall IELTS score of 6.5, including at least 6.5 in reading and writing and 6.0 in all other components, or an equivalent recognised English language qualification.
