SQE2 Preparation for Legal Professionals
This is a 30-week, part-time online SQE2 preparation course for legal professionals. It covers the practical legal skills assessed in SQE2, including advocacy, client interviewing, research, writing and drafting. It may suit those preparing to take SQE2 who want structured practice across the relevant legal practice areas.
About this course
This part-time online course prepares legal professionals for the practical legal skills assessed in SQE2. Over 30 weeks, with around 10 hours of study per week, you will develop and practise the core skills used in client-facing legal work.
The course covers client interviewing, advocacy, case and matter analysis, legal research, legal writing and legal drafting. These skills are considered alongside functioning legal knowledge in criminal practice, dispute resolution, property practice, and wills and intestacy, probate administration and practice, and business organisations, rules and procedures.
Mock SQE2 assessments are included to help you practise applying legal knowledge and skills in the format required for the assessment.

Entry requirements
There are no stated entry requirements for this course.
To qualify as a solicitor, the SRA requires a degree or equivalent qualification, alongside its other requirements.
Careers
The course is designed to support preparation for the SQE2 assessment, which forms part of the route to qualifying as a solicitor. Qualification as a solicitor is subject to meeting the SRA’s full requirements.
